Sorry I wasn't able to make the trip to the 25th and 30-year reunion gigs. In 2003, I was in mourning of the death of my sweetheart and first soul-mate, Leslie DiMaria(1958-2003), and in 2008, the cost of food and fuel was skyrocketing all the way to the moon and beyond, put a damper on any travel plans for awhile. Among other things, I also had a piano gig at Spice of Life Cafe on that night, and so I was busy with a music schedule as well.
Now, if all goes well(and hopefully by then, I'll be paired-up with my online sweetheart(named Sarah) from Bay Shore, New York in real life), I'll try for the 35th in 2013.
Meanwhile, since I wasn't able to make the trip this year, I was able to check out some of the photos of the reunion highlights, as well as the alumni....
I have to admit, there are some I could recognize almost in an instant, while others don't look the same, as they did, years ago. But I think it's safe to say that quite a few of us (including me)have put on the extra pounds over the years....LOL
I'm thinking too... In our next reunion, we could have some kind of open-mic jam session, 'cause I know we have quite a few, whom are musicians, and/or still musicially inclined. I know Debbie has The Remnants, groovin' to plenty of pop-fusion jazz, and I could bring my trusty keyboard, rockin' to the far-out sounds of the 60's (and perhaps a number or two from the 70's), as well as an original or two, including my latest dance number I wrote this past winter, called, "The Snowplow Shuffle".
However, before I attend any future party events, there are a couple of things I want to do first:
One, is to get paired-up with a special someone. It's gettin' to be a total drag to go alone, and thus I'm burned-out on going stag at parties and stuff.
And second, is gettin' enough $$$ saved up for the trip and reservations to the party events. In today's sluggish economy, about the only thing that's top priority nowadays, is keeping the bills paid up and food in the fridge.
Hopefully, five years from now, it'll be a little better than what it is today. Now that we'll have a new president, we could get the ball rollin', and so there's a lot of work that needs to be done to get the economy back on track.
Overall, this site and Classmates.com are the best web-pages to stay in touch with my alumni, as well as exchanging e-mail addresses.
If anyone here could establish a free Hotmail and/or Yahoo account(s), we could visit in the Messenger, and have audio/video chats, which is another great way to stay in touch. All it takes, is a headset/mic kit and a web-camera unit, and getting those things programmed and then we're good-to-go.
I already have those accessories, and it's great to see and hear friends and loved ones, LIVE, via computer. Cheers!!! ;)
